The Learning Resource Exchange for schools
The MELT content enrichment project (together with the CALIBRATE project) has been a key factor in enabling European Schoolnet and its supporting Ministries of Education to launch a new Learning Resource Exchange service for schools http://lreforschools.eun.org at the end of 2008. This unique public service initially offers over 130,000 open educational resources from 25 content providers on virtually every curriculum topic for pupils of all age ranges.
The new LRE portal is essentially a re-branded version of the MELT portal that was used by teachers in the project. Additional content from Ministries of Education and from LRE Associate Partners will continue to be added throughout 2009. There are also plans to enable teachers to upload and share resources that they have developed themselves.

The public LRE portal
In May 2009, the LRE received an IMS Learning Impact 2009 Award in the category for Best Cross-National Solution (http://www.imsglobal.org/pressreleases/pr090514.html).
